Chris D’angelo served in the 819 Red Horse Squadron, who are tasked with international repairs on various aircraft. He enrolled in 2000 and is still serving in the forces. After an accident he lost the hearing in one of his hears and suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury, he was also diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. His long term goal is to finish 20 years of active duty in the Air Force and continue his sporting career. He will be competing in Wheelchair Rugby and Rowing.

Nicholas served as a staff sergeant in the US Air Force, after being injured he underwent a below the knee amputation. In the long term Nicholas wants to make the US National Sitting Volleyball Team and Track Running. He also owns a family pumpkin farm. He will be competing in Track running and Powerlifting.

Nichlas Rønne Dam was injured during service. This resulted 12% limited handicap use of the neck, shoulder and upper back. Furthermore, Dam also suffers from PTSD.

In 2011, Luke Darlington suffered a penetrating brain injury with retained shrapnel. He was in a coma for four weeks, his injuries have left him with partial right side paralysis and 25% less brain capacity. In 2013, he travelled to the USA to compete in the Warrior Games and this year he will be representing the British Armed Forces team in Cycling and Swimming at the Invictus Games.

W.A. Dati lost one leg in a service accident. He is still serving in the Carabinieri Force, and will compete in Swimming.

Derrick joined the Air Force in 2009, he served in the 633 Air Base Wing, which is based at Langley Air Force base Virginia. In 2010 he was diagnosed with Leukaemia and has since been fighting a winning battle. He is proud to be part of the Invictus Games as he views it as a “Once in a lifetime opportunity”. He will be competing in Volleyball, Swimming and Rowing.

Donna Davies developed arthritis in her left knee, as well as a worn patella. However, through vigorous training she has qualified for the British Armed Forces Swimming team.

Ryan Davies suffered Brain Injury during his service with the army. After extensive rehabilitation and recovery process, Davies has started taking part in Powerlifting events. He will be representing the British Armed Forces in the sport.

Steven Davis joined the Navy shortly after leaving high school, he was assigned to the 8th helicopter sea combat squadron. Steven suffered a motorcycle accident in 2008, which claimed the use of his right leg. He was told he would never walk again, today he is able to walk with the support of an ankle-foot orthosis. He is part of the Sacramento wheelchair basketball team. He will be competing in Archery, Sitting Volleyball and Wheelchair Basketball.

A retired Senior Airman, Dolby Bryon Dean, was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder after returning from Afghanistan in 2010. He hopes to finish school and in the long term inspire others with his story. He will be competing in Track running, Javelin, Shot Put and Discus.

Dennis Dencker was injured by an IED blast, which resulted in his right foot being amputated. After his recovery, Dencker became involved with adaptive sports. He will be representing Denmark is Athletics, Cycling and Sitting Volleyball.

In July 2007, Derek Derenalagi was in Helmand Province Afghanistan clearing a helicopter landing site when his vehicle hit an IED. He was in a coma for two weeks and woke to find that he had lost both legs. Derenalagi has never let this hold him back in achieving new goals, through a vigorous training program he has competed in various Volleyball, Discus, Javelin, and Shot-Put events. He will be representing the British Armed Forces team in Athletics
