Tony Benfer joined the Air Force in 1999, at which he still serves in to this day. In 2007, Benfer was the victim of a ‘hit and run’ accident, which resulted in an amputation below his knee, and injuries to his elbow and right thigh. However, he has competed in a number of sporting competitions since, and is looking forward to taking part in Swimming, Wheelchair Basketball and Wheelchair Rugby during the Games.
