Paul Vice was awarded the Military Cross for his outstanding courage and gallantry. He was critically injured whilst on a foot patrol in Afghanistan, when an IED blast severed his carotid artery. The blast also caused brain damage, the loss of using his right arm and left foot. Once he had completed an intensive course of rehabilitation, Vice was introduced to disability sports through the Help for Heroes Adaptive Sports Programme, and in 2013 was part of the H4H team that competed at the US Warrior Games. He will be competing in Archery and Cycling.
