Michael Goody was injured when his patrol was hit by an IED, the blast led to him losing part of his left leg below the knee and causing hearing loss on his left side. As a result of the blast, Goody suffered a brain injury and has been diagnosed with PTSD. An ex Junior GB Swimmer, in 2009, Mike swam the Channel as part of a three man wounded team. He also competed in the swimming leg of the 2011 Bolton Iron Man, and also competed in the marathon and swimming section of the 2012 Iron Man. Goody will be representing the British Armed Forces in Swimming.
