Max Rohn joined the Navy because he wanted to help others. He already had experience as a volunteer firefighter in Colorado. He served with various Marine Corps Units and in 2009 he was with a Marine postion transition team when his humvee was struck by a rocket propelled grenade which badly damaged his right leg. He underwent 14 surgeries in 2 years to try and salvage the limb. Eventually after competing in the 2011 Warrior Games he decided to have the leg removed. He made the 2013 U.S. Paralympic Track & Field Team for shot put. At the Invictus Games, Max will be competing in the Field-Discus, Shot Put and Sitting Volleyball.
