Jens Syber was suffered a blast injury to the neck, lower back and reduce hearing. The power of sport has been an important factor for his recovery. He has said “It is crucial the countries do more for its wounded soldiers. They have helped to ensure that everyone else can live a normal life, It can open other people’s eyes to the fact that although we have physical or mental injuries caused by our missions, we acts as whole human beings. Given the right conditions and means we can operate like any other human being. I am a soldier by heart and I have been used to meet soldiers from other nations, therefore I would like to meet and compete with those soldiers. I want to show others, that we as injured soldiers can operate just like other human beings just given get the right conditions.” Syberg will be competing in Archery, Sitting Volleyball and Wheelchair Rugby.
