Andrew Roberts was a sapper in the Royal engineers and was serving with the 28 Engineer regiment in Afghanistan. In 2009 Roberts was involved in a blast, which caused extensive soft tissue and nerve damage to his leg. Life, as described by Roberts, has been a mental and physical battle since the injury five years ago. He first had a taste of Wheelchair Basketball on a Battle Back course in 2012, this year picked up the courage to join a team and pursue the sport. Being part of the Invictus Games has helped to be build Roberts confidence, and is proud to be representing the British Armed Forces in Wheelchair Basketball.
